Frederick to Roanoke

My favorite things about the MINI community are my car (obviously) and the people! I’ve made so many great, lifelong friends at MINI events that I can’t imagine not having in my life. The best part of the drive from Frederick to Roanoke was reconnecting with a lot of old friends from the DC Metro MINI Club!

The day started off at the Frederick Fairgrounds. As we entered they lined us up on what appeared to be a horse track. I rolled in a little late and one of my very best friends Melissa and her husband Dan were already there! Melissa was the first person who introduced me to MTTS and in 2016 she and I formed our own little caravan from Atlanta to Palm Springs.

Just like old times!

While Melissa and I were reminiscing about our adventures Corey arrived and not long after that we saw Ross as well!

This time he’s wearing a shirt and doesn’t have cupcakes but it was still great to see Corey again!

The bulk of the day was spent on Skyline Drive. I was with my regular crew but as soon as we entered the park I saw Dan and Melissa’s MINIs on the side of the road. I stopped to see if they needed help but they were only there while Melissa tuned into a work call. I decided to wait for them and spend the day driving together.

Dan is super handy with the camera and we took a few snaps while we waited for Melissa

When we got in the park we stopped at an overlook for photos.

This was one of my favorite stops
We took a lot of photos!
I miss these people when they aren’t around!

Eventually Dan and Melissa had to turn off and head for home so I booked it to Roanoke. I made great time and checked in to my hotel before heading out to have some Thai food with the boys. As I left the hotel I ran into Corey and Ross who said they were going to a pinball museum later.

The pinball museum was across the street from our restaurant so Marc and Brian and I went to check it out.

I scored over 2 million on this game #pinballwizard

We left a little before eight and Marc, recognizing my pinball wizardry, popped an important question in the museum parking lot!

I said yes! Now we are going to be pinball partners for life!

Another fantastic day, though I’m sad we are getting closer to the end!
